Bali Trip - The Ubud Village Resort and Spa

This trip to Bali, we had a chance to get ourselves checked in into two hotels (we just realized on this trip that we love hotel hopping! I think we'll do it again next time). The Ubud Village Resort and Spa is a 5-star boutique resort designed for total relaxation, that has won the Bali Tourism Award for 2015 - 2016, World Luxury Hotel Awards for 2014, Asia's Best Romantic Boutique Hotel Awards for 2014, achieved the certificate of excellence from Tripadvisor in 2015, and a bunch of other awards that basically says that this hotel rocks, romantic to the max, and so this is THE reason why I chose to book this hotel for the remaining part of our Bali vacation. The front lobby One of the reasons why I love coming to Bali so much is because this place has many boutique hotels with private pool villas! I get to swim in private with my family in normal swimming suits instead of the covered ones :). And they usually provide top notch service, guaranteeing maximum relaxation

Bali Trip - BBQ Seafood Dinner by the Jimbaran Beach

The next day on our Bali trip, we decided to spend the day at Waterbom Bali, of course in the morning, I made time to just sit in the balcony, enjoying the awesome view that is Ubud. For more information on Waterbom Bali, feel free to click here . You can buy the tickets online through that link, plus if you're Indonesian or foreigner with a working permit/visa, they charge you with a cheaper rate, just be sure to have your KTP or residency permits with you when you claim the tickets on site. For my family, a trip to Waterbom Bali is a must every time we visit. It is rated as the #3 water park in the world, and the #1 water park in Asia by tripadvisor ( I don't know whether this means much to you or not hehe). I didn't take too many pictures of the water park, because I was busy having fun :P. Sorry. But, I did manage to take a picture of myself as I was about to have fun muaahhaha. The water park was quite big, with many slides from the really mild ones like &

Bali Trip - The Lokha Ubud Resort

It's the holiday seasons!!! I'm so excited. Usually, by this time of the year, me and my family will be on a fun vacation, to unwind, relax and enjoy togetherness. Actually, I'd also hope for romantic time together with hubby, but time like that is hard to come by when you're with a young child, who seems to think that it is our utmost important obligation to keep her entertained at all times. This year we pick Bali as our holiday destination*let's do cartwheels. I'm not exactly a fan of beaches, or sand, or even sunlight for that matter, but I agree that Bali is beautiful and enchanting. The landscape, the culture, the people, the food! Yummm....most importantly the food. I revolve our vacation to always be around food, and that is how I always base my itinerary on :). Do you do this as well? I always find Bali food to be on the spicy side, which is awesome because I love spicy food! But knowing myself and the delicate stomach that I have*so sad, I decided

Tasty Prata at Prata Wala - Is It Your Favorite?

The first time I tried Indian food was when I was in the US, weirdly enough. A fellow graduate assistant comes from India and she invited me for dinner at her place. My very first Indian dinner, I was so excited. At first glance, Indian food looks kinda similar with Indonesian food, especially the cuisines from the Sumatra region. So, I thought the taste might be not too far off. Well, I was wrong obviously, but it was my first experience and I was entranced by Indian food (thank goodness my friend is a good cook, otherwise I'd probably close the book on Indian cuisines). The spiciness level was through the roof in my opinion-I will never forget the taste of that sambar , it was like eating fire-but I love it. And ever since then, I have been a fan. Since moving to Singapore, as it turns out, Indian food has become more or less a staple in our household, particularly the biryani and prata :). The first place here which I think serves decent prata was the Prata Wala.
